John Podesta’s road trip takes a turn for the Chevy Chase-ian.

In modern cyber time scales, this is very old news.

President Trump has been derided for taking a few moments from the utterly serious and grave German G20 global trade party to indulge in the oldest Trumpian diversion known to his Presidency. He Tweeted. All the respectable global voices would have you believe Trump should have displayed more commercialist gravitas on his international sojourn; rather, they chose to mock this most amusing European message:

This Tweet has triggered a resounding and predictable uproar from left-wing circles for a multitude of reasons. The “backlash” is deafening as a self-righteous global moan has enveloped social media for better part of the day.

And the subject of the Tweet, Mr. Podesta himself, couldn’t resist joining the fray despite the fact that he too should have been attending to Real Life duties as well (of a slightly more enjoyable nature than that dreary G20).

So John Podesta embarked on a cross country road trip with his wife, felt the demand for a public retort on his part was so strong that he strayed on a short writing detour in order to pen this piece in his captive media outlet, the Washington Post.

Apparently the Prez hit a sore spot with his Tweet.

Apparently the Prez isn’t the only person unable to resist the lure of the public pulpit.

John Podesta, in the midst of his road trip, tells us

As president, Trump is supposed to be doing his job representing the United States in a respectable fashion to make sure we maintain and enhance our standing around the world. Instead, he has his face glued to his phone. It’s really sad that the U.S. president can’t get his head in the game even at the G-20 summit of world leaders.

God only knows what our president will be tweeting by the time my wife and I get to Utah.

Uhm, not sure, John.  Why don’t you tell us?

When you get to Utah, of course.
