Politicians here in the Golden State have persistently acted like petulant, bitter lefties in the wake of the Trump Revolution. As a means of dispelling the nationalistic mood of Americana, Calfornia’s Dem politicos have deferred to a lofty brand of national ideological exclusiveness whereby their liberalism affords them, and the piddling residents of this state, a status apart and above all the rest of us “lowly and average” Trump voters. The sophisticated urban class retreats to its close-minded elitism here, and with the ascendancy of a President they can pin their antithetical identity on, nothing pleases the liberals in California more than each and every blip of the socially acceptable radar Donald Trump erupts with his notorious decrees and observations.
At times this behavior borders on the juvenile. Much of the behavior of California Dems reeks of a collective temper tantrum, an adolescent smoldering of rebelliousness fashioned after emotion, and ultimately is only useful as rebellion for the sake of rebellion and little else. Like children throwing tantrums, the outlet is dispersed and unfocused and often impulsive and self-destructive.
For instance, the California state Senate today progressed a single-payer health care scheme sponsored by Chicano douchebag, Ricardo Lara, even though the state has absolutely no means to pay the $400 billion price tag.
A proposal to adopt a single-payer healthcare system for California took an initial step forward Thursday when the state Senate approved a bare-bones bill that lacks a method for paying the $400-billion cost of the plan.
The proposal was made by legislators led by Sen. Ricardo Lara (D-Bell Gardens) at the same time President Trump and Republican members of Congress are working to repeal and replace the federal Affordable Care Act.
“Despite the incredible progress California has made, millions still do not have access to health insurance and millions more cannot afford the high deductibles and co-pays, and they often forgo care,” Lara said during a floor debate on the bill.
“Incredible progress California has made…”
Politicians are scoping out a an expensive civic toy without a dime to pay for it. This, the sign of “progress?” I suppose in Democratic California, it’s only about virtue-signaling and platitudes, not results. So yes, progress is cheap and only as valuable as the words designed to feign it.
And the motivation lies in snubbing Trump, always. It’s not a question of the needs and financially ability of this state: it’s about throwing a tantrum and cutting off the state’s nose to spite Trump. Douchebag Lara outlines why he does what he does in a post-Trump world.
Lara said action is required because of what is happening in Washington.
“With President Trump’s promise to abandon the Affordable Care Act as we know it — for one that leaves millions without access to care — California is once again tasked to lead,” he told his colleagues.
The egregious smug self-importance of this state’s leaders truly never fails to shock.
Well, at least we’re teaching that big, bad Trump guy a lesson. Take that, Donnie!
