I can’t say I tremendously “hate” Melinda Byerley, one of those legion of smug Silicon Valley moving n’ shakin’ autists.
Sure, she’s distasteful and vile for her beliefs, opinions, and simply for existing at all.
She clouds my vision, trashes the cultural and aesthetic landscape of this country, but…she tells the truth and recognizes her motives, unlike most liberal/SJW types. The typical liberal reacts with condemnations and demands which appear baseless for their lack of context. It is an implicit trait of the lefty mind to avoid latent ideals that feed their beliefs and value system. They obfuscate their elemental beliefs with fluffy platitudes of “equality” and “rights” and “diversity” when in reality, their cultural ambitions are as base and self-interested as anyone else, left, right, center or Trump.
But Byerly pretty much shamelessly spells it all out. She tells us, in an uncharacteristic frank manner, what the coastal elites truly believe about American culture. No tiptoeing around with exasperating liberal platitudes for this one.
Melinda Byerly, squealing tech witch, doesn’t beat around the bush in explaining the ghastly value system that lurks behind the curtains that conceal the baffling and inexplicable wizardry driving today’s American elites in their battle with Donald Trump and the last vestiges of an elemental America unconcerned with haughty, supercilious airs.
Byerley says that the first thing those in middle America need to realize is that “no educated person wants to live in a shithole with stupid people.” Particularly, in a “shithole” filled with people who are “violent, racist, and/or misogynistic.” In Byerley’s opinion, “big corporations,” do not consider moving to the heart of America because “those towns have nothing going for them.”
The towns have “no infrastructure, just a few bars and a terrible school system.”
The MBA claims that “we,” the educated people, like herself, “would like to live a more rural lifestyle,” but they “won’t sacrifice tolerance or diversity to do so.” Especially, these folks do not want to live in “states where the majority of residents are voting for things against their own interests,” solely, because these voters “don’t want brown people to thrive.”
She declares that if middle American towns can begin fixing their schools, and, essentially, “clean up their act,” then people like Byerley will “want to live there.” She even says that the fixing these problems would bring the “best and brightest” of our youth who “would rather scrape by in SF than live in a huge house somewhere if it meant dealing with with bigots and backwards ideologies every day,” to middle America.
Interesting, her implications.
Byerly does in fact beat around the racial bush. “Middle America” is a stand-in for “White America,” of course. There is nothing preventing her ilk from investing in these “lesser” areas for the sake of revitalization and to help emigrate her tiresome brand of urbanization to virgin territories. In fact, it’s this same ilk that doesn’t seem to care to be bothered with the fact that gentrifying portions of the worst inner city ghettos carries many abhorrent risks…but they do it.
But “middle America?” Sorry, coastal elites can’t be troubled.
