It was with some amusement and ghastly little surprise that I read that California, a la Europa, is now engaging in one mass bureaucratic indulgence in virtue signalling by denoting August as “Muslim Appreciation And Awareness Month.”
Leave it to California.
What was once an innovative, trailblazing social experiment abutting the Pacific Ocean has become a diseased, elitist conflagration of liberal stupidity and smug self-delusion. Those of us who decidedly do not possess the “California mentality” but find ourselves mired in this dung-hole by the sea retreat into the sanctity of our own homes, for taking it all in firsthand is just a bit too much, especially those of us who live in San Francisco or Los Angeles, or worse yet, work in the industries boasting the most egregious doses of liberentsia, ie, entertainment or technology. I work in the entertainment industry. Let me tell you…it is not a pretty sight. With my political/social views, I find very little kinship with any of the SJW’s who populate the entertainment industry from wall-to-wall. People like me are strangers in a strange land. We shut up, keep our heads down, and humor the left-wing claptrap should it ever be expressed openly (which it often is).
These are the types of people who welcome the gesture of a “Muslim Appreciation” as a symbol of faux charity only because they feel it’s politically expedient to embrace culturally incompatible outsiders even though many of these generous California types are agnostic or atheist and gladly denounce religion (provided it’s of Christian origins); strangely, they elevate Islam to an idyllic level of social justice instead of a punitive religion.
This is being done at the behest of Hamas-linked CAIR. Is Assemblymember Bill Quirk aware that Hamas-linked CAIR is an unindicted co-conspirator in a Hamas terror funding case – so named by the Justice Department? CAIR officials have repeatedly refused to denounce Hamas and Hizballah as terrorist groups. Several former CAIR officials have been convicted of various crimes related to jihad terror. CAIR’s cofounder and longtime Board chairman (Omar Ahmad), as well as its chief spokesman (Ibrahim Hooper), have made Islamic supremacist statements. (Ahmad denies this, but the original reporter stands by her story.) A California chapter distributed a poster telling Muslims not to talk to the FBI, and a Florida chapter distributed pamphlets with the same message. CAIR has opposed virtually every anti-terror measure that has been proposed or implemented and has been declared a terror organization by the United Arab Emirates.
So yesterday, August 1, represented Day One of this month’s celebration of Muslims and all things Muslim in our Golden State.
Good for us. Over the past few decades our state officials have aptly demonstrated that the well-being and comfort of average Californians is of little to no consequence or consideration. Good for California.
How long before Sharia law…?
Coincidentally (seriously, not planned), this past weekend I bought a package of my favorite meat for preparation yesterday; I eat sparingly and I welcome left-overs, so this 2.35-pound slab of meat will last me all week. Yesterday, I baked it for about 35 minutes and ate the most sumptuous dinner, not realizing I was marking Muslim Appreciation with this. How fitting.
