Barack Obama, King of Diversity, angles in on his post-Presidential career.

So now Barack is piping in about Hollywood’s diversity “problem.” CNN goes so far as to call him the “movie-fan-in-chief.” In other words, a recognition of the ridiculousness that the President voices opinions on such a pointlessly unimportant conflict. What’s next…will Barack tell us his Earth-shaking opinions about the Kardashian girls?

Of course, Barack believes Hollywood must change. Would we expect anything less of this racial figurehead?

“As a whole, the industry should do what every other industry should do, which is to look for talent and provide opportunity to everybody,” the President told CNN affiliate KABC in a White House interview. “And I think the Oscar debate is really just an expression of this broader issue of are we making sure that everybody is getting a fair shot?”

If a “fair shot” is what Obama means by me getting the lead male role opposite Jennifer Lawrence, I’m all for it. Go-bama.

For his part, Obama says diversity in the arts is good business. It also has an important role to play in American society, he said.

“I think that when everybody’s story is told, then that makes for better art; it makes for better entertainment; it makes everybody feel part of one American family,” Obama said.

Ah, the “diversity of the sake of diversity” trope rears its head again, and apparently, such nonsense does not stock knocking at the doors to the Oval Office.

I suspect that Obama’s “next life” (the one where he turns in his White House keys) will involve the movie industry.

In fact, he’ll roar in and once again disprove that diversity is dead in the movie industry.
