The internet takes another tumble down the cliff of fear.

I don’t like this sort of talk.

IS online: Can it be stopped?

A Europe-wide police team is being formed to track and block social media accounts linked to Islamic State (IS).
They aim to get new accounts closed down within two hours of them being set up. Rob Wainwright, Europol’s director, told the BBC that the new team, which starts its work on 1 July, “would be an effective way of combating the problem”.

This is the kind of coordinated Intelligence effort that is less about halting evil than about inserting its slimy, dictatorial tendrils into our lives and usurping modern technology to monitor us. All in the name of fear, safety, caution and religion.

And ultimately, the subjugation of the internet to the Masters of Society, who despise its free-wheeling, democratizing nature.
