“Most” of the news media reports accurately on a home invasion robbery here in L.A. while CBS resorts to typical PC reticence.

Wow, several news outlets here in Los Angeles surprised me. They reported on a home invasion robbery in the exclusive Palos Verdes Estates, a hilly coastal community in the South Bay.

It appears they borrowed the copy from a local news service and used it as their own story, but the important thing is…they didn’t bother to remove glaring, not-so-pretty truths.

I expected to read something like this. A typical news recount of a crime story nowadays:

“Police were searching Sunday for four robbers who tied up two Palos Verdes Estates residents during a home-invasion that occurred in the affluent area the previous night, authorities said.

Officers responded to the 1700 block of Paseo La Cresta (map) at about 8 p.m. Saturday after the victims called to report the incident, according to Sgt. Steven Lebeau of the Palos Verdes Estates Police Department.

The residents told investigators that four men in their 20’s had entered their home that evening and tied them up, Lebeau said.”

But instead, I found this:

“Police were searching Sunday for four robbers who tied up two Palos Verdes Estates residents during a home-invasion that occurred in the affluent area the previous night, authorities said.

Officers responded to the 1700 block of Paseo La Cresta (map) at about 8 p.m. Saturday after the victims called to report the incident, according to Sgt. Steven Lebeau of the Palos Verdes Estates Police Department.

The residents told investigators that four black men had entered their home that evening and tied them up, Lebeau said.”

Bold notation is my own.

This is quite unlike mainstream news reports in the big city of racial sensibilities. The news media neglects the fact that race is one of the most important descriptive elements of an unsolved crime, especially in a large multicultural clusterfuck like Los Angeles.

For everyone’s sake and safety. This is pertinent information that casts no judgement. It’s cold hard facts.

I guess CBS didn’t get the memo, however. Business as usual for them:

“Four gunmen reportedly tied up two residents at a home Saturday night in the upscale community of Palos Verdes Estates.
Investigators were told it took around a half hour for the assailants to ransack the house, located in the 1700 block of Paseo La Cresta, according to PVE police.
The victims said they were able to free themselves from their restraints after the robbers left and contacted police at 8:14 p.m. One resident was slightly injured from being tied up.
Palos Verdes Estates is an affluent community on the Palos Verdes Peninsula.”

A snarky commenter after the CBS story wrote:

“Four gunmen reportedly tied up two residents at a home Saturday night in the upscale community of Palos Verdes Estates.”
