Me:

I’m a 45-year-old lone-wolf type from Los Angeles who avoids large crowds and manages to carefully walk the thin line between indifference and misanthropy.

Much has been made about the subject of privacy. In the blogosphere you’ll note that most of the community is in their 20′s and 30′s. At my age, in the blogging demographic, I feel like a senior citizen. Many of the members and readers of the blogs I participate in are half my age. It is this exposure to a much younger age group that reminds me just how similar my mental outlook compared to theirs back when I was that age.

When you’re in your 20′s and even into most of your 30′s, you have a desire and an instinct to belong to Society; to protect your standing within this Society. This includes career, relationships, social circles, recreational circles…I’m not sure how it works for other people my age, but I can safely state that at this point in my life, I am over Society. I have very little urge to belong to it, much less join it.

I am an “opt-outer” and biding my time until I can make a clean break and leave the city. As such, the necessity for me to maintain bloganonymity is nearly non-existent. I don’t care if prospective girlfriends, wives, employers or lenders track me and my thoughts down. I would never write anything in these pages that I would not tell people to their face.

As far as I’m concerned, that is the test.
