According to the rickety witch of the South, since I support Donald Trump, chances are 50/50 that I belong to a “basket of deplorables.”
Hillary Clinton told an audience of donors Friday night that half of Donald Trump’s supporters fall into “the basket of deplorables,” meaning people who are racist, sexist, homophobic or xenophobic.
In an effort to explain the support behind Trump, Clinton went on to describe the rest of Trump supporters as people who are looking for change in any form because of economic anxiety and urged her supporters to empathize with them.
“To just be grossly generalistic, you can put half of Trump supporters into what I call the basket of deplorables,” Clinton said. “Right? Racist, sexist, homophobic, xenophobic, Islamaphobic, you name it.”
She added, “And unfortunately, there are people like that and he has lifted them up. He has given voice to their websites that used to only have 11,000 people, now have 11 million. He tweets and retweets offensive, hateful, mean-spirited rhetoric.”
Spare me the hot air, Hill. I’ll answer this one for you.
Yes, to all of the above. At one time or another, I’ve hated just about everybody who has walked this Earth. I generally hate all people, including all the wayward samplings they come in. There are moments in life when I do in fact hate certain races, queers, immigrants, Muslims…even White crooked Southerners. Like you.
I hate. It is what I do.
But I especially hate opportunistic political dynasties built on cheap platitudes and global appeals to that innocuous brand of do-goodyism that promises to save the world at the expense of Americans. I hate corrupt elitists who don the pretense of social welfare in order to emotionally whore their way into national office.
I suspect your “basket of deplorables” is merely short-hand denoting anyone lacking the bad sense to support your incongruous run for the Presidency.
