If Elizabeth Warren can do it: today, I Socially Extinct, would like to announce that I am, in fact, an Irishman.

A few years ago, during the Rachel “Aspiring Soul Sista” Dolezwal dust up, I happened to coincidentally receive my DNA/ethnicity results back from a popular ancestry site. Contrasting my typically diverse-as-shit Mexican results against Dolezwal’s rantings, I called her behavior “convenient racialism.”

I thought of the phrase again when this morning I learned that Elizabeth Warren, of Pocahontas fame, released her DNA results in order to boast that she is, at best, of 1/32 Native American background. Sorry, but color me assuredly unimpressed by her Indian cred. That pales (face) in comparison to my tee-pee-toutin’ 46%, baby. I’m the Indian, bitch!

Honest injun

Responding to years of derision by President Donald Trump and other critics, Sen. Elizabeth Warren on Monday released a report on a DNA analysis that provides strong evidence she does, in fact, have Native American heritage.

The analysis on the Massachusetts Democrat was done by Stanford University professor Carlos D. Bustamante. He concluded Warren’s ancestry is mostly European but says “the results strongly support the existence of an unadmixed Native American ancestor.”

Bustamante, a prominent expert in the field of DNA analysis, determined Warren’s pure Native American ancestor appears “in the range of six to 10 generations ago.”

That meshes with Warren’s narrative that her great-great-great-grandmother, O.C. Sarah Smith, was at least partially Native American. That would make Warren 1/32nd Native American.

But if her ancestor is 10 generations back, that could mean she’s just 1/512th Native American, according to the report . That could further excite her critics instead of placating them.

Those critics have charged that Warren advanced her career with a narrative she is a descendant of Cherokee and Delaware tribes. Trump has repeatedly mocked his potential 2020 presidential election challenger as “Pocahontas,” going so far as to offer $1 million to a charity of her choice if she took a DNA test that proved her claims.

I don’t believe that level of genetic Indian immersion proves much and least of all, justifies a relentless narrative “boasting” of Native American roots.

If I were to use Elizabeth Warren’s logic, I should begin boasting of my Irish background.  It would explain my love of the booze and potatoes.

And green is my favorite color.  It all makes sense.

March 17, here I come!

Esoterica NPC memetica

The enigma of NPC’s are new enough that this might not ring familiar with some.

Those who get it, however, will laugh…

We need a citizen’s army of serious visual documenters.

Street skirmishes are here.  The new communal dialog.

They will get worse before they are suppressed. Given this fact, street skirmishes between Antifa and the Patriot Right are today’s warring factions littering the battlefield pitting enemy values against each other.

The war has begun and it is in our backyard.

Portland, apparently the epicenter of much of this tension, was the stage for an encounter between Antifa and Proud Boys yesterday.

As born out by this very unsatisfying video documentation of the event, it is clear one thing is sorely needed as we embark on this new cultural battle for the streets: authoritative visual documentation. Those involved in the skirmishes should fight.  They have no business video recording or photographing because it is physically impossible to do both.

If contending with the Antifa scourge will require physical might and ferocity, we should call it what it is: war.

As such, wars require memorializing in an orderly, observable manner.  Clean video and sound, steady camera work – today’s videographers of the quasi-Civil War II are modern day war photographers.

We need people whose sole mission it is to record the battles for posterity and witness. The above video is too similar to most street-level footage of today’s left-right battles.  We end up with little but blur;  frames filled with indecipherable hair and clothing. The full gravity of the encounters is washed away with shaky video, muffled audio, and an overall muddled presentation that evokes little passion.

This is not to lay the blame at anyone’s feet.  I am merely suggesting a different avenue, and reason, for better documentation of these skirmishes.

The first step to cultivating hearts and minds is undiluted, clear portrayal of the war.

This is a good example of what we should strive for. Note the videographer is not immersed.

Five Guys employees abuse, belittle, Trump supporter in Georgia.

There’s enough personal and geographic info divulged in this check-in post that I strongly suspect this did happen.

In today’s digital wonderland, a great many incidents are, and have been proven, apocryphal. Not this one…hopefully more is revealed.

I tolerate Five Guys hamburgers…they aren’t bad. I do enjoy the peanuts and the anarchical ability to throw the shells anywhere I please, but if this is true, I may (easily) resist the restaurant. Especially if this goes unpunished.
